Apply for a 2026 LICNHAA Scholarship

The Long Island Chapter of the National Hampton Alumni Association, Inc. is awarding two scholarships for eligible students from Long Island, Queens, and Brooklyn.

There are two scholarship awards available:

$2,000 Scholarship

This scholarship is for female Hampton University who live in Queens, New York.

$1,500 Scholarship

This scholarship is open to all qualifying applicants, including incoming freshmen and current Hampton University students.

The application deadline listed on the scholarship application is July 11, 2026. Scholarship recipients will be notified by July 20, 2026 and recognized on July 25, 2026.

Complete the application fully. Make sure all required sections are filled in before submitting.

Step 2: Answer the Personal Statement Prompt

The application includes a short personal statement section.

Please answer the prompt that applies to you:

Incoming Freshmen:

Why did you choose Hampton over another HBCU? How do you plan to contribute to Hampton’s rich legacy?

Current Hampton University Students:

How has Hampton impacted you so far? How have you contributed to Hampton’s rich legacy, and/or how do you plan to contribute?

Your response should be one paragraph only, approximately 150–250 words.

Step 3: Gather Your Required Documents

Your submission must include:

Completed scholarship application
This may be submitted as a PDF or Word document.

Transcript
Your transcript may be official or unofficial.

Letter of recommendation
Your recommendation letter does not have to come from your school. It may come from a teacher, counselor, employer, coach, mentor, community leader, church leader, volunteer supervisor, or another adult who can speak to your character, leadership, service, or academic potential.

Your email must include all three attachments:

1. Completed scholarship application

2. Official or unofficial transcript

3. A letter of recommendation

 

Incomplete applications will not be considered.
